ISP SPAM Email Blocking & AcquireWeb
Protections
ISP Email blocking
As Spam has become more and more of a problem, ISP's have
adopted a number of programs to help them stem the tide. In
their zeal to block Spam, it is currently estimated that 17%
of all mail classified as Spam and being blocked is, in fact
non-Spam being sent by legitimate marketers to their clients
and prospects. These improperly blocked messages are called
false positives. From the sender’s perspective, there
are three basic protocols/tools being used by the ISP's to
accomplish the blocking:
Filtering - Generally a set of rules designed to suppress
or bounce any email containing excluded data.
Static Blocking - Use of internal and external white and
black lists consisting of IP addresses to pass (good guys)
or block (bad guys) email.
Dynamic Blocking - Dynamic monitoring of an incoming email
stream and resulting bounces, watching for excessive numbers
of bad addresses (from compiled Spam lists), and screening
for the ability of the sender to receive the resulting bounces.
AcquireWeb Protections
As an Email Service Provider (ESP), AcquireWeb maintains close
contact with the email industry through memberships in numerous
organizations concerned with fighting Spam and promoting email
privacy. As such, we employ a number of tools and procedures
to assure compliance with ISP white list requirements and
delivery of email:
Filtering - We provide our clients with best practice consulting
to help avoid the use of words and phrases that would trigger
a filter block.
Static Blocking - We stay in constant communication with
all major ISP's to assure continued white listing of AcquireWeb
IP addresses.
Dynamic Blocking - We maintain the highest quality standards
for our 250 MM match file using internally developed technology
for e-data hygiene and bounce detection.
